These heirloom lemon-yellow, squat carrots have a fine-grained texture that is crispy and juicy with plenty of natural sugar. This variety is from Uzbekistan and is popular across central Asia. Called “Mshak” in Uzbek, meaning ‘muscle carrot’,it is easy to grow in a range of soils and temperatures, and the flavour is superb. We love this amongst other coloured carrots, roasted or raw in slithers in salads.
