Ethical Fur Products No animals are harmed to make our ethical fur products. There is a high natural alpaca mortality rate in Peru where traditional methods of farming on the high plateaus in the Andes mean poor access to veterinary care, field shelters and cria coats. Alpacas are far too valuable to kill for their fur (although it is the softest thing you may ever feel!), but buying fur products supports these small indigenous farmers especially in harsh winters when thousands of animals can sadly be lost due to severe cold snaps. Every fur product is unique and hand crafted in Peru, so we advise that our collectable toys are suitable for children aged 3 and over. As alpaca is water, grime and odour repellent and free of lanolin it does not require cleaning as often as other textiles. Our fur can even be brushed clean (with or without talc) as grime finds it hard to stick in the absence of lanolin. You can sponge clean away any spillages or for a deeper clean they can be dry-cleaned.
