Luca Marini made his debut in the Moto3 World Championship at the 2013 San Marino Grand Prix as a wild card. His first full season was in 2016 racing with the Forward Racing Team. Marini continues to improve every season and has raced with the SKY Racing VR46 Team since 2018. He won his first race at the 2019 Thai Grand Prix, and won again a week later in Japan. In 2021 Luca moved up to MotoGP to race with the SKY VR46 Avintia Racing team. In 2022 he continues in MotoGP with the newly launched Mooney VR46 Team which is owned by his brother Valentino Rossi. In 2024 Marini made the switch to the Repsol Honda Team to race alongside 2020 MotoGP World Champion Joan Mir.
